Ukraine war: UK joins ban on imports of Russian gold The UK, US, Canada and Japan will ban imports of Russian gold in an effort to hit Moscow's ability to fund the war in Ukraine. The UK PM said the move would "strike at the heart of Putin's war machine". Gold exports were worth £12.6bn ($15.4bn) to Russia in 2021, and the UK says their importance has increased since the invasion as oligarchs rush to buy bullion to avoid sanctions. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

A missile caused this crater in a residential area of Kharkiv on Sunday Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said the attacks were an attempt to intimidate Ukraine ahead of this week's G7 summit. The last major Russian missile strike on Kyiv was on 5 June when a railway repair facility was hit. Russia has become internationally isolated through far-reaching sanctions since its 24 February invasion of Ukraine. After big early setbacks, Russia has made some advances in the east despite fierce Ukrainian resistance, and on Saturday finally captured Severodonetsk, a city now in ruins. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Foals are about to kick off a summer Foals are about to kick off a summer of festivals, with headline slots at Latitude and Glastonbury's Other Stage. And with perfect timing, they've just recorded the most festival-ready album of their career. Life Is Yours is an effervescent palate-cleanser after the two-part Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost project in 2019. Where those records dealt with crumbling political systems and climate catastrophe, their new music embraces the joyous possibilities of life, "lost in the sugar rush" and "running through open doors" after lockdown. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Foals on feral nights out, becoming a trio and filming in Kyiv Foals' reputation as a live band precedes them. Fierce, intense and teetering towards self-inflicted injury, their shows frequently end with frontman Yannis Philippakis climbing the rigging, invading the moshpit and punching the microphone to his chest. Named the UK's best live act by readers of NME and Q magazine (RIP), the band suffered through the pandemic more than most. "Music exists with people, in reality," says Philippakis. "That's where, as a musician, you get all of your reciprocal energy. "To me, there's nothing deep about doing something on Twitter or YouTube. I want to feel a physical human connection, and that's done face to face, in a room, playing music." สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

We want to succeed in our lives, so we can fulfil the dreams of our martyrs." As they entered the classrooms, the students wiped the dust off the desks but already some of the teachers were murmuring that, unexpectedly, the school would have to shut down again. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Afghanistan girls' tears over chaotic Taliban schools U-turn Early this morning, at her home on a hilltop in the west of Kabul, 15-year-old Marzia packed her bag for school, for the first time since the Taliban took power last August. "I became so, so happy when I heard school was restarting," she told the BBC. "It makes me hopeful about the future again." Around 200 other girls had also made their way to the Sayed ul Shuhada school, far fewer than usual, as pupils and their families debated whether or not lessons would actually start and whether it would be safe for them to attend. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Bread is a nationwide staple - many Afghans now can't afford much more Humanitarian aid has been delivered in Afghanistan, averting fears of a famine over the winter, but there are warnings it is no longer enough. In any case, the crisis has fundamentally been driven by the decision of Western countries to largely cut off development aid Afghanistan was heavily reliant on, and freeze the country's central bank reserves after the Taliban took power. The move is in part a response to concerns over the treatment of women under their rule - and the new hard-line restrictions by the Taliban, dictating what women should wear for example, make a resolution difficult. But it's poor families like father-of-three Hashmatullah's who are the ones suffering. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Scraps of stale bread are keeping Afghans alive On a market stall in front of a blue-domed mosque in Kabul, large orange sacks are filled with stale, leftover naan bread. It's usually fed to animals, but now, according to those selling it, more Afghans than ever are eating it themselves. Shafi Mohammed has been selling stale bread for the past 30 years at Kabul's Pul-e-Kheshti market. "Before, five people used to buy this bread in a day, now it's more than 20 people," he says. The market is bustling - and everyone there we speak to complains of the economic crisis that has enveloped the country. Average incomes have been slashed by a third since the Taliban takeover last August, whilst food prices have risen sharply. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Encouraging a 'Chinese identity' China maintains Hong Kong has always been its territory - that the British only occupied it after 1842. And while the Qing government at the time signed successive treaties ceding and leasing parts of the territory to Britain, China argues those were signed "under coercion" and never accepted them. Hong Kong's government has been following Beijing's rhetoric since the 1997 handover. It never says sovereignty was "transferred" to China, but rather Hong Kong has "returned to the motherland". Government museums used to describe Hong Kong as a "British colony", but those words were removed in 2020 - a move locals said was indicative of China's strengthening control in the semi-autonomous city. The latest move is in line with Beijing's attempt in recent years to instil a "Chinese identity" among Hong Kong students - to sow the idea that Hong Kong has always been part of China, bu...

Hong Kong: New school books claim territory was not a British colony New textbooks for Hong Kong schools will state the territory was never a British colony, local media report. Instead, the books declare the British "only exercised colonial rule" in Hong Kong - a distinction drawn to highlight China's claims of unbroken sovereignty.China has always asserted it never gave up sovereignty and its surrender of Hong Kong to the British was due to unfair Opium War treaties in the 1800s.The UK returned Hong Kong to China in 1997 after ruling for over 150 years. During its rule, it referred to Hong Kong - a port with a deep harbour that grew into a booming city state, and one of the world's leading financial centres - as a colony, as well as a dependent territory. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อตวอเลท

Spokesman Sergei Nikiforov said that at that time, Zelensky had three or four telephone conversations with Joe Biden and the leaders exchanged views and assessments of the situation in detail."Therefore, the phrase 'did not want to hear' probably needs clarification," he told Ukrainian news outlet LIGA.net. Conflict settles into WWI-style fighting - analyst Fighting in Ukraine has settled into a rhythm reminiscent of trench warfare in World War One, says a military analyst.Justin Crump, chief executive of security consultancy Sibylline, tells the BBC the conflict has become “micro-level” - with Russia now “lucky to capture a field in 24 hours”. This is because the defending army appears to have an advantage in any given battle at the moment. In some places, that favours Ukrainians holding onto their territory; in others, it suits Russian troops occupying cities they’ve captured.Crump, a former British Army serviceman, says Russia appears to have slight momentum – as its troops “grind forward”. Moscow will want to capture Severodonetsk and then the remainder of the eastern Donbas region in order to declare “any sort of victory”.He expects the Kremlin to set its sights Zaporizhzhia next, then make a fresh attempt at Kharkiv and look to capture Odesa on the south coast. สนับสนุนโดย : สล็อ...
